What is IoT and how it works?

 Introduction to IoT:

Iot stands for internal things.  Iot means accessing and controlling daily usage equipment's and devices using internet.  Iot compromise things that have unique identities and are connected to internet .

The past few years, iot has become one of the most important technologies of 21st  century. Now we can connect everyday objects like kitchen appliances, cars,mobile phone,etc. Today internet via embedded devices. Also accurate communication is possible between people,processes and things.

By means of low cost in computing, the cloud, big data analytics and mobile technology physical things can share and collect data within minimal human intervention. In this hyper connected world, digital systems can record, monitor and adjust each interaction between connected things. The physical world meets the digital world and they both cooperate.

Experts forecast that by the year 2025, there will be more than 50 billion device /things connected to internet .

Definition of iot

 Everyday things embedded with electronics, software and sensors connected to internet, enabling to collect and exchange data without human interaction is called as the internet of things.

The term "Things" in the internet of things referred to anything and everything in day to day life which is accessed or connected through the internet.

Iot is an advantage automation and analytic system which deals with artificial intelligence, sensor, networking, electronics, cloud messaging, etc to deliver complete system for the product of services. The system created by iot has greater transparency, control and performance.

We have a platform such as a cloud that contain all the data which we connect all the things around us.

Examples:

In a house where we cam connect our home appliance such as air conditioner,light,etc through each other and all these things are managed at the iot platform.


Working of IoT:

Then i ot process start with the devices themselves like smartphones, smartwatches, electronic appliance like TV, washing machine which helps you to communicate with the iot platform.

The four fundamental components of an iot systems are

  1. Sensors / device   
  2. Connectivity
  3. Data processing
  4. User interface
1. Sensors / device

Sensor or devices a key component to iot. They help you to collect leave data from the surrounding environment. All this data maybe a simple temperature monitoring sensor or it may be in a form of the video feed.

Your device may be have various types of sensor which performs multiple tasks a part from sensing.

2. Connectivity

All the collected data is sent to be cloud infrastructure. The sensors should be connected to the cloud using various media of communications. Please communication media include mobile or satellite networks, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.

3. Data processing

Once that data is collected and it gets to the cloud, the shouted process the gathered data.

4. User interface

The information needs to be available to the end user in some ways. This can be achieved by triggering alarms on their phones are sending them notification through email or text message. The user sometimes might need an interface which actively check is iot system.
